WWI
Backpack
As you can probably see that this backpack had to carry alot. Plus this backpack was laying on top of a itchy, uncomfortable, coat. This backpack was extremely heavy too. Other than all of the bad things about this backpack it did have some good to it. It held all of the necessaries like a shaving kit, shoes, socks, gun-cleaning kit, and many other things that were crucial in the war conditions. They even had paper and a writing utensil to write to their friends/family.

Boots
The soldiers boots would be leathery and a light brown color. They even had 2 prong hobnails at the bottom to hold them together. It was a very smart way to keep their boots intact.

Gas Mask/Canister
The Germans were way more protectice when it came to poisonous gas. The British didn't. They thought that it works so it is fine even if it is uncomfortable and smells absolutley terrible. You would strap it around your head and start breathing in from your nose and out through you mouth.
