Fighter Plane

 

This is a picture of the Red Baron's plane. The Red Baron was the best WWI ace. To become an ace you had to take down 5 planes with more than 2 people seeing you do it.  Fighter planes only had two people on them pilot and co-pilot. They had the machine guns put in several different spots through-out the war. They had them on the side, front, and back of the plane throughout the war.  Eventually they had the technology to put it in the front and it would fire one after the blade went by.

Zeppelins 

 

Zeppelins were first used in WWI by the Germans. They were used to bomb the enemy's city. The Zeppelin could carry over two tons of bombs. Zeppelins had the element of surprise at the beginning of the war. At the end of the war they were easy to take down. To take a Zeppelin down you catch it on fire.  They used helium gas to catch the zeppelin on fire.
